Wild radish has recently overtaken annual ryegrass as the most problematic weed in Western Australia's cropping systems, especially across the northern agricultural region, due largely to its increasing resistance to many herbicides. Dr Walsh said the top priority for growers should be using diverse IWM practices and minimising the number of weed seeds in the soil by preventing weeds from setting seed, or removing any weed seeds before they entered the seedbank. In addition to the GRDC Herbicide Resistance Fact Sheet , a number of other resources are available to help growers minimise herbicide resistance, and are listed in the fact sheet.
